RUNWAY REPORT

Spic 'n' Span

Is your closetful of unorganized clothes making it harder for you to dress up in the morning? What about the myriad pairs of shoes eating up space in your room? Not to mention your accessories that are probably strewn all over the place.

Well, it’s time to get organized, bella! We know cleaning up is hard (and sometimes even boring), so we’ve tried to make it easier for you by doing the shopping for you. Below, some organizing essentials that’ll not only make your fashionista life loads better, but might even brighten up your personal space.

Silkscreen board. Stick your earrings into this for easy reference. This device is also a great space-saver—a large board can hold up to 40 pairs. You can color-code your earrings or simply stick them in whatever order; at least they’ll be easier to spot if you’re in a rush!

Alternative accessory organizer: Pillboxes. If you want your jewelry and accessories safely tucked away, these little mini-organizers will do the trick. They’re not expensive (around P80 for medium-sized ones) and come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.

Closet drawers. You can buy this from department stores—mini-bureaus that you can hang inside your closet (just stick them on the rod) so you have more “layers” to efficiently store your shirts.

Hooks. The back of your bedroom door is probably one of the most neglected spaces—utilize it by placing hooks (you can buy them at Robinsons Handyman and department stores). This way, you can easily hang up your jacket or any other knickknacks without making your room look like a fashion warzone.

Dehumidifier. With temperatures rising this summer, the humidity can really wreak havoc in enclosed spaces like your closet. Ward off mold, mildew and bacteria by strategically placing dehumidifiers so they can absorb moisture. This is especially important in areas where you’ll be storing your bags, shoes, and belts

See-through shoe boxes. Place your shoes in these see-through containers so you won’t have to waste time hunting for the perfect pair each time. They may cost a little more but they’re a great investment. Stack them in twos or threes to properly utilize space.

Alternative shoe-ins: Shoe racks and shoe bins. Shoe racks are specifically designed to save space, and there are now lots of options to choose from (we like “high-rise” racks better). Meanwhile, shoe bins can hold your less-sensitive shoes like your slippers or trainers.
