Be Blooming this Christmas!

The cold weather during the ’ber months and early part of the new year can wreak havoc on your skin, which is used to tropical weather. Arm your skin against the attack of the chilly climate with the TLC tips and show off a glow that not even the brightest of Christmas lights can compete with.
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. The cold weather can up your skin, so lock in the natural moisture of your skin by slathering moisturizer twice daily—morning and at night. Be sure not to neglect the other areas of your body like your elbows, knees, feet and even the skin on your bottom (that part which scrapes against your seat)—even if they’re covered (unlike your face), you still have to keep them hydrated.
Don’t forget to put balm on your lips, too—they’re more prone to chapping in cooler months.
Pack a tinted moisturizer in your purse just in case you need to retouch and you find that your skin is dry. A tinted moisturizer is best used during colder weather since its liquid form moisturizes the skin; plus, it’ll give you that cheery glow, perfect for the holidays.
If you have dry skin, use a super potent moisturizer at night and remember to tote a travel-sized moisturizer in your kikay kit since you might have to moisturize lots of times within the day. The air-conditioning in your office will only add to the drying effects of the “real” weather.
Give your bathing ritual a makeover. Because the weather has changed, your bathing regimen has to adjust, too. Use lukewarm or warm water instead of hot water when bathing as hot water can dry up skin. Opt for a moisturizing bathing wash (not a body scrub as the grains or particles it contains might—in the process of scraping off dead skin cells—dry out your skin, then supplement it with body oil or body lotion to keep skin soft and supple.
Drink lots of H2O. Alcohol and caffeine are considered diuretics (meaning they hasten urine discharge), and the deluge of champagne and other alcoholic beverages this Yuletide season will only dehydrate you more than ever. And dehydration can lead to dry, dull-looking skin. Combat this by being more conscientious with your daily water intake and skipping the alcohol if you can. One glass or a bottle of beer is fine, but if you find yourself hungover the next day, your skin will suffer as well.
Stock up on fruits and veggies, too, as these natural foods help you detoxify from all the junk you’ll be piling into your system this December.
Take care of frizz by using serum or a leave-in conditioner since the cold climate can attack your tresses. We suggest you smooth it on the ends of your strands to seal in moisture and prevent it from looking frizzy or worse, buhaghag.
